Questions, answered.

What do I need?›

A GoPro HERO11 or HERO13 on the kart, or just your lap timer. Install racem8 on your phone or computer and drive — with the GoPro, your laps are on screen about a minute after you park.

What does racem8 tell me after a session?›

Your biggest gain first: the corner with the most time in it, what to do there, and your own best run through it replayed next to it. Then the next corners, the habits that repeat, and your ideal lap — your best sections stitched together.

Which cameras and lap timers work?›

GoPro HERO11 and HERO13. A HERO12 records no GPS, so run it with a lap timer. Lap timers: Alfano today; MyChron, Unipro and RaceBox are next. Camera and lap timer together end up on one screen.

What exactly is free?›

Your latest session: every lap, your biggest gain with how to take it, and the flyover through the first corner of the lap. Everything else stays saved — Pilot opens every corner and every session, and works at the track with no signal. Pilot is yours for 14 days from your first session, no card.

What happens after the 14 days?›

You stay on Free automatically — no card was ever needed. Your sessions stay saved, and Pilot opens them again whenever you want.

Does it work on rental karts?›

Yes. Mount the GoPro on the kart or your helmet — racem8 needs nothing from the kart itself. What it knows comes from racing karts at international level; we built it so every driver who takes it seriously gets the same insight, on a rental or on their own kart.

Does it work at the track with no signal?›

With Pilot, yes: your laps, the video with the HUD and the full analysis on your phone, no signal needed. Free gives you the same as the web — your latest session and your biggest gain.

No video — does it still work?›

Yes. With a lap timer alone, racem8 flies over the track along your line with the same HUD: speed, delta, braking, every corner.

Which tracks does racem8 know?›

Outdoor tracks we've mapped corner by corner, by hand — indoor is coming. On a track we haven't mapped yet you still get your laps, times and video — tap "Request this track" and we map it.

How accurate is it?›

Corners are mapped by hand on every track we support, and your laps are measured against those points — not guessed. A GoPro with GPS shows clearly where you brake, turn in and get back on the throttle.

Does anything get sent without me?›

No. Your session is ready on your phone or computer first; you choose what goes to racem8. What you send opens on the web, in the lab and in the flyover.

Is there a phone app?›

Yes — racem8 for iPhone and Android, and for Mac and Windows: pull your session from the GoPro, watch it with the HUD, open your tracks and the lab. Get it from the App page.

Can my coach see my sessions?›

Only if you connect with them. Your coach then sees your sessions and analysis; disconnect any time and the access ends.

Who owns my data?›

You. Delete a session and it's gone from racem8. If you stop paying, your sessions stay saved — Free keeps your latest one open. Want all of it? Account → Your data gives you one ZIP, any time.

How do I pay and cancel?›

Card on the web, monthly or yearly. Cancel any time in Account — you keep Pilot until the end of the paid period, then you're on Free with your sessions saved.
